July’15, 2016, New Delhi: Shahrukh Khan launched Sania Mirza’s autobiography “Ace Against Odds” penned by her, along with her father Imran Mirza. It was launched on July’13 in Hyderabad. Recently, in an interview for India Today, Sania Mirza slams the Veteran TV Journalist Rajdeep Sardesai for his sexist question calmly.

Sania got stunned when Rajdeep raised questions about her plans regarding “Motherhood” “settling down” and “getting retired”. At this Sania replied “You sound disappointed that I’m not choosing motherhood over being number one in the world at this point of time. But I’ll answer your question anyway, that’s the question I face all the time as a woman that all women have to face — the first is marriage and then its motherhood. Unfortunately, that’s when we’re settled, and no matter how many Wimbledon we win or number ones in the world we become, we don’t become settled. But eventually it will happen, not right now. And when it does happen I’ll be the first one to tell everybody when I plan to do that.”

Sania ranks number one in the women’s double ranking, and is the highest paid and high profile athlete in the country, and has won a total of 14 medals (including 6 Gold) at three major multi-sport events, namely the Asian Games, the Commonwealth Games and the Afro-Asian Games.

Though after that he made an apologetic remark “I must apologize, I framed that question very badly. I promise you, you’re right, I would never ask this question to a male athlete…”
