Mohammad Yousuf makes his stand clear on “World’s best batsman”

Former Pakistani Right Handed batsman Mohammad Yousuf termed Joe Root as the best batsman currently in all the formats. The veteran cricketer ignored the ‘Run Machine’ Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, AB Devillers  and Kiwi’s Kane Williamson who have done exceptionally well in the recent past.

Yousuf said “He is the best batsman in all three formats of the game.

His balance, his shot selection and his timing all work well together and his double hundred against Pakistan at Old Trafford was a gem of an innings,” 

Couple of days ago, Joe root scored a magnificent 254 against Pakistan in the second Test match for which he was rewarded with the Man of the Match. During the live match, a picture comparing the Test matches Performance between Root and Kohli sparked a debate between who is the best batsman in test cricket.

He further added”I have always said that if a batsman can be successful at Test level he can be successful in any format. I think the way Root or the others get runs consistently it proves my point,” 

Mohammad Yousuf was himself one of the best Test batsmen for the Pakistani side. He played 90 matches and scored 7530 runs with 24 centuries and 4 double hundreds at an average of 52.29. He was also in the news recently with his live verbal spat with Ramiz Raza on a live TV News show.
